Honorable Waheed Akintayo otherwise known as ‘Ilumoka’ also emerged the sole and unopposed consensus candidate to pick the party’s ticket to contest for a seat at the state House of Assembly for a second term.

The duo secured the party’s ticket during the APM congress held on Thursday at Methodist High School, Toll Gate, Ibadan, amid jubilation by party faithful and supporters who thronged the venue.

The exercise, which was supervised by the party’s Returning Officer, Dr. Olawale Aremu, was described by party leaders as peaceful, transparent and credible.

Announcing the result at the end of the congress, Aremu declared Olatunji and Akintayo winners after the party unanimously adopted and ratified their names as sole and unopposed candidates for the Oluyole federal and state Consequency.

He commended delegates and party stakeholders for conducting themselves in an orderly manner throughout the exercise, noting that the congress reflected the democratic ideals of the party.

“This process has been peaceful, free and fair. Delegates conducted themselves responsibly and the outcome clearly reflects the will of party members,” Dr Aremu said.
